POPLAR BLUFF -- Audrey Whitworth, 81, died Dec. 7, 2005, at his home.

Born July 2, 1924, in Catron, son of the late Zimmer and Myrtle Lynn Whitworth, he had lived in the Parma and Catron areas for many years before moving to Flint, Mich., where he retired after 30 years with Buick Motors. In 1981, he moved to Poplar Bluff where he was a member of the Twin Springs Baptist Church.

On Oct. 2, 1944, in Piggott, Ark., he married Violet Borders who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Dennis Whitworth of Flint; five daughters, Shirley Wheat and Sherry Trostel of Poplar Bluff, Sandra Johnson of Otter Lake, Mich., Glenda Simpkins of Swartz Creek, Mich., and Brenda Southworth of Twining, Mich.; and 15 grandchildren and 19 great-


Visitation is from 5 t 8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Junior Vester of Poplar Bluff officiating.

Burial will follow in the City Cemetery at Poplar Bluff.
