COCOA BEACH, Fla. -- Shannon Marie Lawson and Brent Reid Blanchard were united in marriage during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony July 9, 2005, at the Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Resort in Cocoa Beach. The Rev. Jim Issaacon, pastor of Methodist Church in Orlando, performed the ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Steve and Susie Lawson of Sikeston, Mo. Her grandparents are Carolyn Lawson of Sikeston, Evelyn Barrowman of Orlando and the late Charles Lawson and Joe Barrowman.
The bridegroom is the son of Jim and Dianne Blanchard of Sikeston. He is the grandson of Cleta Blanchard of Doniphan and the late James Blanchard, Dortha Brown and Charles Fowler.
Given in marriage by her brother, Eric Beard of Shreveport, La., the bride wore a V-neck halter sheath adorned with allover beaded lace and a fishtail train. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies.
Nicole DeWitt of Sikeston served as maid of honor. She wore a seafoam green sun dress and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies. Brad Blanchard of Kansas City, Mo., served the bridegroom as best man.
An Ocean Luau Buffet for family and friends followed the ceremony in the Manatee Room. Evelyn Barrowman was the wedding coordinator.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at Kobies Japanese Restaurant in Orlando.
A 2003 graduate of Kelly High School and a 2004 graduate of Trendsetters Cosmetology School, the new Mrs. Blanchard is a hair stylist at J.C. Penney in Sikeston.
Blanchard is a 2000 graduate of Sikeston High School and is currently a student at Southeast Missouri State University. He is employed at Ultimate Flooring and Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Following a honeymoon in Orlando and Tampa, the couple are making their home in Sikeston.
