Gene Thomason

DEXTER - Harvey "Gene" Thomason, 76, died Oct. 17, 2005, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter.

Born June 22, 1929, at Green County, Ark., to the late John Harvey Thomason and Flossie Drucilla Evans Thomason, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a mechanic for Autry Morlan Chevrolet in Dexter.

Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Wayne Thomason of Bloomfield; one daughter, Tonya Renee Bailey of Dexter; two brothers, Dewayne Thomason of Middleton, Wis., and Bobby Thomason of Elkton, Md.; three sisters, Jewell Batchelor of Malden and Faye Peacock and Pat Thomason of Dexter; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Thomason.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Keith Myers officiating.

Burial will follow.
