SHS soccer shuts out Kennett, 3-0

KENNETT -- Sikeston broke a first-half scoreless deadlock with three second-

half goals to defeat Kennett 3-0 on Thursday.

The Bulldogs Scott Gardner scored all three goals off two assists from Ryan Beaird and another from Andrew Box.

Sikeston (9-10) held a 31-4 edge in shots.

Caleb Davidson, in goal for the injured Scott Droddy, recorded the shutout with four saves.

Sikeston's junior varsity played Kennett to a 1-1 tie.

Ashton Cantrell scored the goal on an assist from Johnny Peeler.

Sikeston hosts Poplar Bluff in its final regular-season game on Monday.
