DUDLEY -- Jewell Elizabeth Orr, 84, died Oct. 1, 2007, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born Oct. 9, 1922, in Cohomo, Miss., daughter of the late William Payne and Minnie Marie Krezeszinski Eavenson, she had retired as a secretary for the International Hat Company in Dexter. She had lived in Dudley since 1942, where she was a member of the Dudley Community Church, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. She had also taught school in the Dudley area and worked at Elders Manufacturing.
On April 2, 1943, in Dudley, she married Charles Victor Orr, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Darryl Orr of Dexter; one daughter Nicki Allen of Ste. Genevieve; one sister, Louise SImon of Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
One sister, Joyce Connelley; and three brothers, Errol Eavenson, Conrad Eavenson and Robert Eavenson, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 9 until time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Greg Meadows of Dudley will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dudley Cemetery.
