WYATT - Lela J. Brown Whitehead, 60, died Sept. 30, 2007, at her home.
Born March 14, 1947, in Wyatt, to the late Ernest Edward and Goldia D. Sullivan Brown, she first lived in Wyatt and then moved to Charleston where she was a member of the United Methodist Church. In 1964, she moved to Brawley, Calif., and returned to Wyatt in 1992.
On May 19, 1965, she married James Farmer Whitehead who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, James F. and Maria Whitehead Jr. and Steven B. and Marisa Whitehead of Brawley; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward "Dub" and Donna Brown of Knoxville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Kenneth Gibson, pastor of New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church of Wyatt, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Irvin Whitehead, Ben Whitehead, Bob Whitehead, Art Whitehead, Dick Knaup and Ryan Logan.
