DEXTER -- Lucille Biggs Lantz, 108, died Oct. 15, 2005, in the General Baptist Nursing Home at Campbell.

Born April 4, 1897, at Dexter, daughter of the late Charles Owen and Anna Albritton Biggs, she was a member of the Episcopal Church of Dexter. She graduated from Dexter High School and attended Brenau College in Georgia, Drury College, Southeast Missouri State University Teachers College, University of Missouri, University of Southern California and completed her art studies at Washington University School of Fine Arts. She taught at schools in St. Louis, Tulsa, Okla., and Pasadena, Calif., and taught art and music in the Dexter Public Schools.

Survivors include: one nephew, Charles Biggs of Phoenix, Ariz.; two nieces, Ann Walton of San Rafael, Calif., and Betty Jeffress of Poplar Bluff; and a special friend and caregiver, Phyllis Dowdy of Dexter.

Graveside services were conducted today at 11 a.m. in the Dexter Cemetery.
