MALDEN -- Vestia Estell Berry McElvoy, 92, died Oct. 16, 2005, at the Gideon Care Center in Gideon.

Born Jan. 29, 1913, in Frisbee, daughter of the late James W. and Lucy Davis Stratton, she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Clarkton.

On Oct. 5, 1929, she married John Paul Berry who preceded her in death June 29, 1977.

On June 29, 1977, she married V.M. McElvoy who survives of the home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: four sons and daughters-in-

law, Dallas and Frances Berry of Malden, James and Mavis Berry of Arnold, Sherman and Sue Berry of Dexter and Thomas and Debra Berry of O'Fallon; one daughter and son-in-law, Anna Lou and Marlin Bienhoff of Fairmont, Ill.; three stepsons, Marvin McElvoy of Springfield, Eudell McElvoy of Kansas City and Jack McElvoy of Wappapello; one stepdaughter, Lucretia Stanley of Sikeston; four brothers, Fred Stratton of Brosley, Everett Stratton, J.L. Stratton and Myrlen Stratton of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Lou Tabb of Brosley and Beatrice Kilgore of Safford, Ariz.; and 21 grandchildren, 33 great-

grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren and a host of step-


In addition to her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by: four sons, Richard Berry, Wilburn Berry, Leonard Berry and William Berry; and one grandson.

Funeral services were conducted today at 11 a.m. at Bradshaw Chapel in Malden. The Revs. Roger Wooten and James Bolin officiated.

Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
