PEKIN, Ill. - Elizabeth Ann "Annie" Watson, 62, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died at 7:10 pm. July 26, 2007, at her home.
Born March 2, 1945, in Columbus, Ky., she was the daughter of the late William Alton and Mary Elizabeth Boswell Denton. She owned and operated Annie's restaurant from 1990 to 2002, and worked at Brownie's, Three Sisters and Cobbler Corner for a total of 30 years. She was of the Baptist belief.
On Oct. 10, 1987, in Pekin, she married Darrell Virgil Watson, who preceded her in death on June 28, 2005.
Also preceding her in death were: three sisters, Faye Skaggs, Joyce Lay and Polly Gifford; and one great-grandson and one step-grandson.
Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie L. and Jesse Jackson and Kimberly D. and Maurice Ball of Pekin; and Joyce A. and Rogelio Sanchez of Henderson, Texas; two stepsons, Edward V. Watson of Pekin and Jeffrey A. Watson of South Pekin; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Kathleen R. and (Walt O'Hara) Watson of the state of Pennsylvania and Tricia G.( Walt Mode) Watson of Woodson, Ill.; two brothers, Samuel Denton and Dillon Denton, of East Prairie; three sisters, Katie Hodges, Rita Dowdy, and Marie Scott, all of East Prairie; eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandson, and a special friend, Doris Marlow.
Services were held July 30 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin, with the Rev. Bill Rawlings officiating.
Entombment followed at the Glendale Memorial Chapel of Dreams Mausoleum in Pekin.
