SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs tennis concluded their regular season Monday losing 7-2 to Cape Central.
Even though they lost as a team, Sikeston won the match of the day as the doubles team of Jenni DeWitt and Campbell Moore defeated Sarah Ford and Christen Edmunds in a thrilling 9-7 match.
"Jenni and Campbell had one of the best doubles matches we have seen all year," said Sikeston coach Lynne DeWitt. "It was an exciting match."
Jenni DeWitt also won her singles match over Ford 8-1, keeping her perfect on the season in singles play.
Sikeston will be in action again on Thursday when they host the 10-team district tournament. Action will begin at 9 a.m.
