JUDSONIA, Ark. - W.C. Wiggens, 85, formerly of Portageville, Mo., died Oct. 3, 2007, at White County Medical Center in Searcy.

A retired farmer and cattle rancher, he served in the U.S. Army alongside General Patton during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.

Survivors include: one daughter, Rebecca Ann Lewis of Portageville; two grandchildren, Colby Reid Hitchcock of St. Charles, Mo. and Missy Hitchcock of Memphis, Tenn.; and three stepdaughters.

Services were conducted today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, Mo.

Burial followed in the Portageville Cemetery.
