CHARLESTON -- Ozie B. Standard, 84, died Feb. 10, 2008, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 6, 1923, in Frenchmen's Bayou, Ark., to the late Jim and Carra Wood Standard, he was a retired farmer and a member of St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston where he was a deacon.
On July 3, 1949, he married Mary Clark who preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1999.
One brother and one sister also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Larry Standard of Charleston and James Morgan of Sikeston; three daughters, Tracie Morgan and Carolyn Frierson of Charleston and Augustine Deals of Dexter; one brother, Jimmie Lee Standard of St. Louis; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with the Rev. Sylvester Davis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
