SIKESTON -- Olive Jeanette Cole, 88, died at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 12, 2008, at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born Nov. 9, 1919, in Tallapoosa, to the late James and Claire Boughers Beavers, she was a housewife and a lifetime member of the Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 and the Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319.

She married Ollie Cole Sr. who preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1973.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Carl Grimes, and one sister, Kathryn Dover.

Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas and Linda Grimes of Doniphan and Ray Cole of Hemet, Calif.; one brother, James W. Beavers Jr. of Sikeston; two sisters, Stella Dean Gosnell of Morehouse and Frances Bell Kessler of Sikeston; and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted today at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston officiating.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
