EAST PRAIRIE -- Alma Doris Williams, 87, died at 5:30 a.m. Oct. 23, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 7, 1920, in Mississippi County, to the late Roy and Ruth Clift Edwards, she had lived her entire life in Mississippi County where she was employed by Prairie Manufacturing for 20 years and Lawson and Lawson Towing for 10 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in East Prairie where she was active in the W.M.U. and the R.S.V.P. Grandparents Program.
On Sept. 26, 1936, she married Cecil Ray Williams who preceded her in death on April 1, 1975.
Three sons, Cecil Lee, Ronald L. and Kevin Williams; two brothers, William Edwards and Orlin Edwards; and four grandchildren preceded her in death.
Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Howard Ray and Earlene Williams, Larry David and Ellen Williams and Jerry Don and Claudia Williams of East Prairie, and Charles O. and Wanda Lee Williams of Charleston; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilynn K. and Charlie McCoy of East Prairie; one sister, Elva Noisworthy of East Prairie; and 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with Keith Cook and George White officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Bryant Givens, Brent Williams, Cecil E. Williams, Howard Williams, Jr. Williams, Gene Williams, Leslie Williams and Jessie Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jerry Williams II, J.C. Williams, Jimmie Williams, Lance Williams, Craig Williams and Scott Mannon.
