SIKESTON - Plans have been completed for extension of city water service to Chaney and Matthews additions in the city of Sikeston, located at Highway 61 South. Twelve thousand feet of 4-and 6-inch water mains have been ordered by the city and are due Feb. 15.

SIKESTON - R. Paul Buchmueller, architect, announced the opening of his office at 118 S. Ranney Ave. His office was previously in St. Louis.

SIKESTON - Much has been set for the Girl Scouts Council conference here in Sikeston for Feb. 19-20. Entertainment, panel discussions and talks will be centered on the general theme, "Happiness."

SIKESTON - A high school preparation meeting for eighth grade students and their parents is scheduled for Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the junior high school gymnasium.

CHARLESTON - The Washington Classroom came to Charleston Monday afternoon. Fourth and fifth graders at the Warren E. Hearnes Elementary School posed numerous questions to Congressman Bill Emerson during the 40-minute event, impressing the congressman with their attention and knowledge.

SIKESTON - Three Rivers Community College is offering two courses at the Sikeston High School for the spring semester. English Composition II will be offered from 6-9:15 p.m. Thursdays and Beginning Algebra will be from 6-9 p.m. each Wednesday.

ST. LOUIS - The still undefeated Charleston Blue Jays went on the road Saturday, traveling north to face the Lutheran North Crusaders, returning home with a 56-38 win. Charleston's varsity will see action again Tuesday, when it enters the opening round of the Pepsi Superman Classic at Massac County High School in Metropolis, Ill.
