Taking the win, on Senior Day, was senior Callie Kielhofner, who allowed no runs, on seven hits, two walks and had three strikeouts. She allowed no extra base hits in the contest.
At the plate, Kielhofner helped her own cause, going 1-for-3, with a single and a run scored.
The Lady Eagles got things going early in the game, scoring four of their six total runs in the first two innings.
Leading the way for the home team was Taylor Irwin, who was 2-for-4, with a single, a double, two stolen bases, two runs scored and an RBI. Amanda Williams was 2-for-3, with two singles and three RBI. Williams was also a force behind the plate by pegging down attemptive base-stealer Shelby Ancell at second base in the fourth inning.
The victory improves Oran's overall record, including junior varsity play, to 12-2 on the season.
"This was another great win for us," Oran head coach Sara Heisserer said. "We've got one game left to prepare us for districts, which will be at home. I can't say enough how great that will be for our team."
Taking the loss for Chaffee, was Madelyn Kiefer, who allowed six runs, on eight hits, one walk and had three strikeouts.
Chaffee's leading hitter was Hannah Bedwell, who was 2-for-3 with two singles.
Up next for Oran is a road game Wednesday in Scott City, while Chaffee's next contest is in Twin Rivers on Tuesday. Both games are scheduled for 4 p.m.
