Risco sees early lead slip away

Friday, December 7, 2007

DEERING -- The Risco Tigers saw an early lead disappear in the fourth quarter as they fell to the Delta C-7 Chargers, 82-74.

"We played extremely well in the first half," said Risco coach Brandon Blankenship. "Kyle White was on fire, hitting five threes and finishing with 19 in the half, but their point guard (Damian Flowers) had 19 at the half as well."

Free throws ended up being the deciding factor as Delta C-7 connected on 24-of-41 while Risco only shot seven, making two.

"There was definitely a discrepancy in the fouls, but we did shoot our fair share of 3-pointers and they drove to the basket a lot," Blankenship said.

Risco was led by White's 23 while Derek Fowler added 15 and Kyle Hayes chipped in 14. The Chargers were led by Flowers' 36 and Sloan Richardson's 22.

Risco (0-4) will host Bernie tonight in their home opener.
