William Harris

SIKESTON - William Dalton Harris, 84, died at 8:20 p.m. May 23, 2006, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born July 16, 1921, in Ridgely, Tenn. to the late Will and Allie Howell Harris, he had lived in Illinois and Oklahoma before moving to Sikeston in 1995.

Survivors include: two sons, Leon Harris of Rome, Iowa and Eugene Harris of Sikeston; four daughters, Margaret Shepard of New Sharon, Iowa, Katherine Russell of LaHarpe, Ill., Beatrice Blacksmith of Carthage, Ill. and Ruth Ann Larson of West Plains; three brothers, James Harris of Miner, Frank Harris of Flint, Mich. and Bob Harris of Bertrand; one sister, Mary Johnson of Sikeston; and 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

One son, Carl Edward Harris; one daughter, Linda Harris; and four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

Private family services will be held.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston was in charge of arrangements.
