Jon Hammock
NEW MADRID -- Jon Evan Hammock, 44, died March 20, 2008, at his home.
Born Dec. 12, 1963, in Sikeston, to Jane Hammock of Matthews and the late Don E. Hammock Jr., he was formerly New Madrid city police officer No. 149 and currently was a New Madrid County Sheriff's Department officer No. 367.
On Oct. 26, 1991, at the Canalou Baptist Church in Canalou, he married Charlene Armer who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jay Evan and Katie Hammock of Lilbourn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Tim Hale of Sikeston and Sarah and Jamie Sickal of Houston, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Sissy Hammock III of Houston and Chet and Sara Hammock of High Ridge; and five grandchildren, Jacob Hale, Alyssa Hammock, Payton Hammock, James Sickal and Megan Sickal.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Steffanie Hammock.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. William Henry will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
