MATTHEWS - Janie Rodgers, 74, died July 24, 2006, at the Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas.
Born Dec. 16, 1931, at Morehouse, daughter of the late Jewell and Fern Williams Bryan, she was a retired nurses aid. Before moving to Texas five years ago, she had lived in the Morehouse and Matthews area most of her life. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Matthews, where she served as a Sunday school teacher.
On May 8, 1975, in Morehouse, she married Robert Lee Rodgers, who preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1996.
Three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Larry Bryan of Alvin, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Abbie and Roger Ward of Sikeston; one brother, Howard Bryan of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Lillian McCulley of Sikeston and Vickie Sinden of Camden; and six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one step-
Visitation is from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse. The Rev. Don Heitman of Matthews will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Bryan, Bobby Bryan, Jeff Bryan, Danny Wilder, LeRoy Price and Junior Oakes.
