ESSEX -- Harold Lawson, 68, died Sept. 26, 2006, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born Sept. 8, 1938, in Wise County, Va., son of the late Paul and Gladys Marie Robinett Lawson, he was a former automobile mechanic and affiliated with the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex.
On May 12, 1984, in Essex, he married Louella Lawrence who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Billie Lawson and Barbara Lawson of the state of Oregon; two stepdaughters, Goldie Payne of Jonesboro, Ark., and Sharon Rice of Kennett; five brothers, Paul Lawson Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Leroy Lawson, Ronnie Lawson, Walter Lawson and Shorty Lawson of the state of Oregon; two sisters, Barbara West of Heptner, Ore., and Maxine Silves of Brush Prairie, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex. The Rev. Larie Burdine will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
