Sikeston crew takes checkered flag at Poplar Bluff Speedway

POPLAR BLUFF -- Robert Smith and Randy Collins of Sikeston garnered the feature win in the Hobby Class at the Poplar Bluff Speedway.

Kyle Berry, 15, of Poplar Bluff is the team's driver.

Berry has been racing for four years and also owns his own car which he races in the pure street class.

He drives both cars every Friday and Saturday night.

The team also races at the Malden Speedway each weekend and have won a total of eight features and multiple heat races this season.

They have also traveled to out-of-town races at Bargerton, Tenn., Harrisburg, Ark., Batesville, Ark., and Talledega, Ala.

Team sponsors include Smith's Auto Repair of Sikeston, Sanders Roofing of Sikeston, Berry Roofing of Poplar Bluff, Gamble Lumber Co. of Poplar Bluff and family and friends.

Their car, 11sr., is raced in loving memory of Mr. Smith's son, Robert Smith Jr., who was the driver before his untimely death in 1998.
