SIKESTON - Joseph C. Blanton Jr. was recently appointed to the Montgomery Bank's Board of Directors.

Blanton is a partner in the Sikeston law firm of Blanton, Rice, Sidwell, Nickell, Cozean and Collins, where his practice focuses on medical malpractice defense, commercial and banking litigation and federal court litigation. Currently he serves as a member of the board of Governors of the Missouri Bar and the Missouri Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee.
"It is obvious the depth that Joe brings to our Board of Directors," Wilson said. "His career experience is unique and I look forward to putting it to benefit our entire banking corporation."
Blanton is a graduate of Sikeston High School, the University of Virginia, and the University of Texas School of Law. After graduating from law school, he served as law clerk to Stephen N. Limbaugh Sr., U. S. district judge for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri.
He and his wife, Felecia, are the parents of Mark David Blanton. The family makes their home in Sikeston.
Montgomery Bank is headquartered in Sikeston and additional branches in Southeast Missouri are in Cape Girardeau, Chaffee, Jackson and Miner. There are six branches located in the Greater St. Louis area including Affton, Bridgeton, Chesterfield, Crestwood, St. Louis Hills and South County.
