CHARLESTON - Juanita Boeker Halter, 83, died at 10 a.m. Oct. 27, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born July 4, 1922, in Dorena, daughter of the late Samuel and Aurora Kendall Tanner, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston. For 28 years she lived in Indianapolis, Ind., where she worked with American Mutual Life Insurance Co. and as a retail clerk in clothing sales before returning to Southeast Missouri in 1981.
On March 12, 1951, she married Gilbert Boeker who preceded her in death on May 8, 1973. On Dec. 22, 1983, she married Norbert Halter who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Colette Boeker of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Phil and Francine Halter of Tulsa, Okla.; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Enderle of Tahos; and three granddaughters and three step-granddaughters.
Three brothers and seven sisters also preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday with the Rev. A. J. Wollenberg, pastor of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston, officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Mt. Olive, Ill., with the Rev. Daniel Barbey, pastor of the Mt. Olive Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating.
