DEXTER - Daniel T. Sawyer, 60, died Feb. 25, 2007, in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter.

Born Nov. 16, 1946, in Caruthersville, to the late Cellar and Elnora Hester Sawyer, he had lived in the Dexter and Bloomfield areas all of his life. He had worked as a custodian for Dexter Public Schools, was a member of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Puxico and a U.S. army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

On Oct. 1, 1977, in Puxico, he married Kathy Sue Riney, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Freddie Sawyer of Dexter; one daughter, Debbie Sue Walker of Seattle; four sisters, Darlia Owens of Parma, Anita Wyatt of Dexter, Ann Henson of Festus and Barbara Rushin of Providence, Ky.; and one grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Scowden.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Don Adams of Matthews will officiate.

Burial with full military rites conducted by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
