NEW MADRID - C.C. Coleman, 90, died Jan. 21, 2008, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 10, 1917, in Marston, to the late Curtis Charles and Ruth Ward Coleman, he served in the Army from 1941 to 1946, and was in the Northern France Campaign during World War II. C C attended the Methodist Church of Marston prior to his failing health. He was a sports enthusiast, avid reader, birdwatcher, and for many years of his retirement was known to visit the sick and infirm faithfully.

On July 24, 1953, he married the former Mary Anna Smith, and she preceded him in death March 12, 2007.

One brother, Jack Coleman of St. Louis, also preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Wednesday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.

Burial will follow at Mounds Park Cemetery.
