SIKESTON - Lewis Wayne Cowell, 69, died Feb. 13, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 23, 1938, in Lamar, Ark., son of the late Lewis Thomas and Johnilee Chronister Cowell, he was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF & AM, Scottish Rite, Moolah Temple, the SEMO Shrine Club and Knights of Columbus. He worked as a troubleshooter for Associated Natural Gas before retiring.
On Dec. 26, 1962, he married Ida Daugherty who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters and a son-in-law, Judith Roberts of Vine Grove, Ky., and Susan and Gregg Price and Mary Cowell of Sikeston; one sister, Wanda Moore of Sikeston; and five grandchildren, Amanda Elizabeth Roberts, Austin Dean Roberts, Matthew Thomas Price, Kathryn Elizabeth Price and Hayden Wayne Ehrlich.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. immediately followed by Masonic rites.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Scott Sunnenberg will officiate.
