SIKESTON -- Andy Johnson Sr., 71, died Feb. 14, 2008, at his daughter's home in Sikeston.
Born April 19, 1936, in Columbia, Tenn., to the late Richard and Marcella Rowden Johnson, he was of the Baptist belief. He had worked in the maintenance department of Food Giant for 11 years, was a machine operator for Stanley Muffler for six years and had been a farmer before retiring.
On Sept. 16, 1960, he married Edna Mae Mowery who preceded him in death on May 22, 2001.
Also preceding him in death were one son, Dennis Ray Johnson; one brother, Richard Rowden; and one sister, Bessie "Polly" Mann.
Survivors include: one son, Andy Johnson Jr. of Kansas City; one daughter, Carla Achter of Sikeston; two brothers, Fred Rowden of Florence, Ala., and Donny Wrather of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Carol Bixler of Kewanee; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Ponder Funeral Home where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
