SIKESTON - Marvin Wilbur Shelton, 77, died June 5, 2007, at Clearview Nursing Center.

Born Oct. 27, 1929, in West Chicago, he was a U.S. Army veteran and had been employed as a meat market manager of National Tea Store.

Barbara Ann Shelton, 78, died June 12, 2007, at Clearview Nursing Center.

Born July 22, 1928, in Elgin, Ill., she had been active with the Delta Area Blind Association.

They were married in Sept. 1956 in LaGrange, Ill.

Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mel and Elaine Brown of Val Rico, Fla. and Darryl Shelton of Sikeston.

They were preceded in death by two sons, David Shelton and Daniel Shelton; and by one daughter, Peggy Burns.

Mr. Shelton is survived by: one brother, Ken Shelton of West Chicago; and one sister, Violet Ballard of Warrenville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Velma Brown.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by two sisters, Marcia Stice-Lawler of Tampa, Fla. and Nancy Nelson of Ft. Madison, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward E. Henriksen and Chester Henriksen Jr.; and two sisters, Marilyn Skinner and Sonja Seger.

A joint memorial service will be conducted for them and their son, Daniel Shelton, who died Dec. 12, 2005, at 10 a.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. The Rev. Dr. Jim Davis will officiate.

Blanchard Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
