SIKESTON -- Barbara Ellen Woods Landis, 86, died June 20, 2007, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born May 7, 1921, in Fruitland, daughter of the late Ray and Blanche Farr Woods, she had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Granite City and was currently a member of the Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sikeston. She attended Southeast Missouri State University, taught in a one-room school in Fruitland, and later taught in the Granite City, Ill., school system for 20 years.
On Dec. 20, 1942, she married Charles Donald Landis who preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1982.
One sister, Natalie Frentzel, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Cheryl Perry of Sikeston and Charlene Landis and Tom Leslie of New York; one brother, Alden Woods of Granite City; one sister, Retia Sasso of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren, Amy Perry Woods of Hannibal, Drew Perry of Bolivar and Anna Perry of Poplar Bluff; and one great-granddaughter, Shyllan Starks of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. John Goodwin, pastor of Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.
