ANNISTON -- Kenneth Richardson Toombs, 82, died at 8 p.m. Oct. 28, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 6, 1923, in Wyatt, to the late Edward and Jessmine Pratt Toombs, he had lived in Mississippi County most of his life, was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church and had worked for Ford Motor Company until his retirement.
He first married Virginia Mae Nance Manker who survives of Cairo, Ill. On Jan. 19, 1980, he married Mary Elizabeth Hicks who preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 1994.
Two brothers, two sisters and one grandson, John Toombs, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Paul Toombs and Albert Toombs of East Prairie and Kennett Eugene Toombs of Cairo; four daughters, Pat Tilley of Bloomfield, Becky Wilson of Wickliffe, Ky., Dorothy Burcks of Cairo and Catherine Lafferty of East Prairie; and 38 grandchildren, 54 great-
grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time for services at 1 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Dean Wallace, pastor of the Wyatt Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
