MELBOURNE, Fla. - Kathleen "Jean" Frazier Mehler, 84, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died at 10:25 a.m. Sept. 25, 2006, at the Life Care Center in Melbourne.
Born Sept. 28, 1921, in Success, Ark., to the late W.C. and Beatrice McCracken Frazier, she grew up in Charleston where she was a member of the United Methodist Church. Following her marriage she moved to Florida where she lived until 1978. Upon her return to Charleston she served as a board member for the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), was a member and social director of the Athena Club, board member for Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, a volunteer in the Family Life Program at the Charleston Nutrition Center and the United Methodist Church. She returned to Florida in 1995 and resumed her community service as a volunteer at her church's thrift store for 10 years.
On Oct. 24, 1937, she married Milford Mehler who preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1978.
Two brothers, Dr. Robert Frazier and William E. Frazier; and two sisters, Jo Ann Downs and Bette Galemore, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Jo and Dorothy Mehler of Titusville; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim McInnis of Melbourne; two brothers, Richard Frazier of Prince Fredericksburg, Md., Ranny Frazier of New Hope, Penn.; and eight grandchildren, 14 great-
grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with the Rev. Roger Jespersen, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, officiating.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Eddie Mehler, Danny Mehler, Ranny Frazier, Mac Downs, Chris Mehler and Jason McInnis.
