Scott County news
BENTON -- Real estate and personal property tax rates for 2007 will remain the same as last year in Scott County.
Following a public hearing, Scott County commissioners decided during their regular meeting Tuesday to keep the general revenue rate at 10 cents per $100 assessed valuation.
"We could raise that to 18 cents but we're keeping it at 10," said Commissioner Dennis Ziegenhorn.
Also, the Johnson grass rate will remain at a penny and the rate for the county road and bridge fund will stay at 29.93 cents per $100 assessed valuation.
In other business, Scott County Commissioners are asking county residents to not burn anything while conditions are so dry.
