SIKESTON -- David Oliver Noyes, 75, died at 5:21 p.m. March 27, 2006, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 8, 1930, in Sikeston, son of the late Oliver Simpson and Othel Rebecca Brooks Noyes, he had lived his entire life in Sikeston where he was a self-employed building contractor and wood worker for a number of years until his retirement. He then became employed with the Sikeston Regional Center where he worked until his retirement in November 1999. He attended the Trinity Baptist Church in Sikeston and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in the Korean War.
On Feb. 25, 1953, he married Lawanna Jean Wallace who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David Ethan and Amanda Noyes of Sikeston; one daughter, Laura Noyes Lee of Paducah, Ky.; one brother, Charles Richard Noyes of Kirksville; one sister, Alean Smith of Sikeston; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Katherine Lee and Ryan R. Lee.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until time for services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church in Sikeston. The Rev. William Marshall, pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church, and the Rev. Dr. Rick Ramsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors by the Missouri Military Honors Program will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be: Eddie McDowell, Matt Clark, Tim Bartlett, Chris Wallace, Kevin Heuiser and Steve Barnett.
