NEW MADRID - Don William "Buddy" Fields, 81, died June 12, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born, May 18, 1926, in Hornersville, son of the late Henry and Edith Crow Fields, he was a retired deck hand for Hufman Towing.
In 1948, in New Madrid, he married Joy Fields Sweet, who preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 1987.
He was also preceded in death by: four brothers, three sisters, two grandsons, Donald "Duck" Brown and Ricky Scott Atchley; and one great-granddaughter, Alyisa Ann Marie Riley.
Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Doug Foley, George and Jane Ann Dawson and Belinda and Mike Brown all of New Madrid, six grandchildren, Micheal Brown, Brantly Atchley, Katie Helmes, Emily Dawson, Gee Dawson and Sarah Riley, and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. G.L. Keene will officiate.
Burial will follow at Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn
Pallbearers will be: Dustin Fields, Don Fields, Everett Fields, Chris Fields, Huston Fields and Ralph "Junebug" Jackson, Jr.
