NEW MADRID -- Gertrude Schuerenberg, 82, formerly of Kewanee, died at 6:
48 a.m. July 27, 2006, in New Madrid.
Born Jan. 16, 1924, in Commerce, to the late John William and Mildred Oma Daugherty Brotherton, she was a housewife and member of the Kewanee Methodist Church.
On Oct. 17, 1942, in Sikeston, she married Edwin M. "Eddie" Schuerenberg who preceded her in death on July 16, 1982.
One brother and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Doris Jean Schuerenberg and Mary and Gary Wagley of New Madrid; one sister, Anita Gaines of New Madrid; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jean Ann and Kevin Morris and Stephen and Kelly Wagley of New Madrid; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Justin Morris and Gracie Wagley of New Madrid.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Ketcher, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in New Madrid, officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Gary Wagley, Stephen Wagley, Kevin Morris, Tyler Morris, James Lynn Brotherton and Richard Trout.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jay Blankenship, J.R. Blankenship, Fred Schuerenberg and Jim Brotherton.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
