Your View: Mission accomplished

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Dear Editor,

"Truckers for Kids," a non-profit organization has just completed their fifth year of making Christmas a little brighter for area children. Thanks to the generosity of our many contributors, we were able to contribute to 135 children this year, which was 27 more than last year.

Even though our donations were over $1,800 less this year than last, we feel blessed in what was accomplished.

A special thank you goes our to our generous contributors in 2007: R&D Truck Sales, Pullen Enterprises, Coldway Logistics, Preston Cook Trucking, Sikeston Jr. High Beta Club, Sikeston Wal-Mart, Jeff and Cheryl Turner, Church on the Rock, Brenda J. Nelson, EM-CAL Inc., Loretta Pullen, Robert Kiger, Peterbilt of Sikeston, Linda and Bill Jobe, Electronic Billing Systems, Robbie and Vern Smith, Bud Nall (Schwann's) and Mia Beddell.

An extra-special thank you to everyone that helped by putting in long hours of phoning, shopping, wrapping, organizing, delivering and more: Judie N. Fowler, Nickol Tilley, Preston Cook, Preston Tilley, Toni Tilley, Rita Meeker, Shelby Meeker, Ruthie Meeker, Meghan Nelson, DeAnna Nelson and Ronnie Mills.

We look forward to 2008!

Diane Cook, president Truckers for Kids
