CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Jacob B. "Jack" Wright, 78, formerly of Charleston and Chaffee, died at 5:45 a.m. Oct. 25, 2006, at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 1, 1928, in Charleston, son of the late Jacob Merle and Anna Elizabeth Essary Wright, he lived most of his life in Charleston where he was employed by the Brown Shoe Co. for a number of years until his retirement and also as a barber for many years. He was a member of the West End Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau and a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during World War II.
On June 17, 1961, he married Anne Austin who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Rick Hall of Steele; three daughters, Elizabeth Hahn of Perryville, Teresa Perry of St. Charles and Jennifer Wright of Kennett; one brother, William "Bill" Wright of Brentwood; one sister, Pat Frayser of Cape Girardeau; and eight grandchildren, three great-
grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were one son, Jacob William "Jay" Wright; two brothers, Thomas S. Wright and Charles Wright; and one sister, Peggy Berbling.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Robert Housby of the West End Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau will officiate.
Burial with full military rites provided by Missouri Honor Guard will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
