SIKESTON -- A St. Louis teenager turned himself into authorities Sunday for shooting another teen in the foot at a party this weekend in Sikeston.
According to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety at 11:30 p.m. Saturday officers responded to a call that shots had been fired around 820 William St. in Sikeston.
As the officers arrived, they discovered a 15-year-old Sikeston female, whose name is being withheld, had been shot one time in her left foot. According to the victim, the shooting had taken place in the front yard of 836 William St. during a party.
It was determined through the victim and eyewitness statements that the incident began as two young adult twin male siblings from St. Louis became unruly at the party. As the incident escalated, one of the male siblings pulled a firearm out and fired the weapon, which struck the victim in the foot. The victim was transported to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, where she was treated and held for observation.
Then on Sunday afternoon, one of the twins, Torrance Neal, 17, who was allegedly involved in the shooting, turned himself into DPS. Neal declined to give a statement about the shooting incident. He was arrested and held on an unrelated warrant from St. Louis County on drug distribution charges. The investigation is continuing and the case will be turned over to Scott County prosecutor's office for want consideration today.
