CHARLESTON - William Lee Bogan, 67, died Dec. 15, 2007, at his home.
Born July 14, 1940, in Mounds, Ill., to the late Bennie and Georgia Brown Bogan, he moved to Missouri in 1962. He was a member of Local Laborer Union 1104 and was of the Baptist belief.
On June 15, 1961, he married Mary Alice Bogan, who survives.
Other survivors include: six sons, Kenneth Smith, Williams Bogan Jr., Anthony Bogan, Jessie Bogan, Elgin Bogan and Baby Rob Bogan of Charleston; four daughters, Susan Bogan, Rozena Bogan and LaWanda Bogan of Charleston and Barbara Bogan of Grand Rapids, Mich.; his stepmother, Bessie Bogan of Sparta, Ill.; 10 brothers, Algie Lee of Laporte, Mich., Willie Vann Jr., Cornelius Vann and Holden Vann of Gary, Ind., Hildred Vann of Seattle, Bennie Morgan Jr., Odie Bogan, Tony Bogan and Joe Bogan of St. Louis and Curtis Bogan of O'Fallon, Ill.; seven sisters, Shirley Vann and Barbara Vann of Seattle, Cora Vaughn of South Africa, Verniece Vann of Gary, Ind., Maggie Wood and Regina Campbell of Radcliffe, Ky. and Brenda Newson of Osceola, Ark.; and 38 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston. The Revs. Sylvester Davis and Linzell Brooks will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
