Roy L. Bollinger
BLODGETT -- Roy L. Bollinger, 82, died at 12:08 p.m. March 14, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 21, 1925, at Scopus, to the late Bernie and Elsie Crader Bollinger, he was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Word War II.
On Jan. 13, 1948, at Blytheville, Ark., he married Christine Stowers who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Cindy Bollinger of Benton, David Bollinger of Blodgett and Michael and Vickie Bollinger of Fenton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Andy Dirnberger of Benton, Peggy and Larry Francis of Smyrna, Tenn., and Sandy and Larry Ulmer of Troy, Tenn.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Leona Bollinger of Alton, Ill., and Clyde and Margaret Bollinger of Festus; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Robert Latham of Florissant and Rosalie Bollinger of Benton; and 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-9 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Revs. Dennis Lowe and Dale Huff will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery with full military rites provided by the Missouri Honors Team.
