Five arrested for damaging mailboxes

BENTON -- Five people were arrested for damaging about 30 mailboxes in Scott County this month.

According to Scott County Sheriff's Department, the department's patrol division responded to a call for service March 9 on State Highway H south of Blodgett.

During that time, deputies also discovered several mailboxes that had been damaged.

The suspects, whose names haven't been released, were arrested and confessed to doing the damage between March 4 and March 9. The suspects are awaiting formal charges and have been released at this time.

Those who live on Scott County Highways 538, 532, 528, 529 and 518; State Highways H and O; or in Fox Meadows subdivision, had their mailbox damaged on the above dates and didn't report it, should contact Lt. Steve Young at the sheriff's department to sign a complaint for property damage.
