ESSEX - Shirley Jean Malloy, 67, died Aug. 22, 2007, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born March 24, 1940, at Canalou, daughter of the late Riley "RAB" and Alice Marie West Johnson, she was a private sitter for the elderly and terminally ill for 30 years. She was a member of Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex.
On Jan. 12, 1956, in Canalou, she married James H. Malloy who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2007.
Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Delbert Kirtley, Donald Johnson, Darrell Johnson, Larry Johnson and Billy Kirtley; and one sister, Peggy Dishman.
Survivors include: four sons, Jeffery Allan Malloy of Dexter and James Lynn Mallory, Roger Dale Malloy and William Paul Malloy of Essex; four daughters, Marcella Jean Burkhart of Gillette, Wyo., Linda Beth Simmons of Sikeston and Dovie June Haynes and Diane Marie Lane of Essex; one brother, Randy Johnson of Canalou; and 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Larie Burdine will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
