Billie Martin

SIKESTON -- Willie Jean "Billie" Martin, 82, died at 6:55 a.m. Dec. 20, 2006, at Miner Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 13, 1924, in Matthews, daughter of the late Albert and Effie Widdows Cox, she was a housewife and a homemaker. She was of the Baptist belief.

She was formerly married to Jack Martin, and he survives of Sikeston.

Other survivors include: one son, Terry Martin of Sikeston; one daughter, Diane Roach of Sikeston; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sue and Leo Wise of Sikeston and Dorothy Helton of Puxico; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time for services at 10:30 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rick Ramsey of First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Blake Rister, Alex Roach, Bud Adams, William Williams, Kris Heacox and Ted Martin.
