SILEX -- Ivy G. Simmons, 96, formerly of Troy, died Aug. 24, 2006, at her daughter's home in Silex.
Born May 25, 1919, in Clebourn, Ala., the daughter of the late Walter Hugh and Maudie Idela Gay Faulkner, she lived in St. Louis for many years and later moved to Lincoln County. She was a homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church in Troy.
On May 3, 1941, she married Burlin A. Simmons who preceded her in death.
All her brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Carol Simmons of Troy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Joe Hart of Silex and Donna and Ron Moore of St. Charles; and 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home, 1304 Boone St., in Troy. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of New Madrid under the direction of Richards Funeral Home. The Rev. Pat Campbell will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn.
