PUXICO - Lillie Baltimore, 80, formerly of Wappapello and Hillsboro, died Sept. 28, 2006, at the Puxico Nursing Center.
Born July 12, 1926, at Neeleyville, daughter of the late Pleas J. and Freeona Miller Oakes, since 1994 she had lived in Puxico where she was a member of the Puxico General Baptist Church. She was a retired licensed practical nurse from CNA.
In 1952, in Hillsboro, she married Curtis Lee Baltimore who preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1985.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jo Carter; one brother, Roy Oakes; and four sisters, Irene Hanebrink, Florence Schafer, Goldie Riley and Mary Burson.
Survivors include: one son, Billy Baltimore of Dexter; one brother, Fred Oakes of Rockford, Ill.; four sisters, Daisy Shivley and Lois Smith of Rockford, Mildred Shivley of the state of Illinois and Viola Hoover of the state of Indiana; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Puxico General Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Richmann Chapel Cemetery near Wappapello.
