CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Omer Creech Jr., 78, formerly of Scott City, died at 12:10 a.m. Oct. 31, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 18, 1927, in Canton, son of the late Omer Everett and Virginia Laura Sloan Creech, he retired as principal of Chaffee Grade School in 1990. He had been the band director at Chaffee, Iberia, Forsythe and Scott City, teacher at Indianapolis, superintendent at Bellvue and school principal at Annapolis. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Chaffee and was a U.S. Army veteran having served with the Army Air Corps.
On April 19, 1964, in Marshall, Ill., he married Marlene Ann Bouchard who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two sons, Omer Dale Creech and David Creech of Cape Girardeau; and one sister, Jacqueline Kelley of Tulsa, Okla.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Joe Hudson of the Methodist Church officiating.
