WASHINGTON -- Herman Dale Shelby, 65, formerly of Bernie, died July 27, 2006, at The Riverview in St. Louis.
Born May 7, 1941, in Bernie, son of the late Homer T. and Evelyn Arnett Shelby, he had been the owner and operator of the Dale Shelby Realty in the St. Louis area.
On April 24, 1964, in Bernie, he was united in marriage to Helen Joan Templeton, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Robert Dale Shelby of Villa Ridge and Timothy Conway Shelby of Spring, Texas; three brothers, Charles Chasteen Gilbert of Inglis, Fla., Arnett "Junior" Shelby of Salem and James Edward Shelby of Waterford; three sisters, Carolyn Sue Porch of Poplar Bluff, Marilyn Ruth Scofi of Columbus, Ga. and Sharon McClure of Ecoexa, Kan.; and two grandchildren.
One brother, Carl Robert Gilbert; and one sister, Betty Jean Burchett, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
