SIKESTON - L. "Jack" Jackson, 77, died at 7 p.m. April 22, 2007, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born Dec. 31, 1929, at Dexter, son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Effie Harness Jackson, he was a retired salesman for Supervalue and a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sikeston Country Club, where he was serving as treasurer of the Senior Men's Golf Association, and had formerly been a member of the Elks, Eagles and American Legion. He was of the Baptist belief, had been an avid bowler and coached Little League for many years.

He married Kay D. Miller who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence "Larry" and Pat Jackson of Argyle, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Darryl Roberts of Sikeston; seven grandchildren, Michael Jackson, Stephanie Jackson and Lauren Jackson of Argyle and Jesse Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Amanda Roberts and D.J. Roberts of Sikeston; one special nephew and his wife, Dr. Robert and Glenda Buchanan of Sikeston; and one special great-nephew, Blake Buchanan of Sikeston.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Mitchell Jackson, pastor of Miner Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will follow at noon at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Pallbearers will be: Tom Maddox, Jim Barber, Bill Whitson, George Steck, Bill Priday, Jack Watkins and Bryan Snider.
