HOLCOMB -- The Risco Tigers went on the road and disappointed the home crowd of Holcomb on Friday evening, as they defeated the Hornets 48-44. The win was the Tigers' second in as many games, as they now sit at 3-9 on the season.
Risco led 25-19 at the break, but Holcomb, who only scored four points in the third quarter, falling behind 33-23, rallied back in the fourth quarter with 21 points.
Despite the rally, 21 points wasn't enough to make up the difference, as the Tigers put up 15 points of their own, holding on for the victory.
Risco head coach Brandon Blankenship said that both clubs struggled defensively in the game.
"It was a low-scoring game," said Blankenship. "But, our defense stepped it up in the second half."
Blankenship added that it was their second conference win, and that he believes his club is moving in the right direction.
Kyle White led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points, while Kyle Hayes added 12.
Holcomb's Chad Adams finished with 14 points, alongside teammate Heath Murdoch who scored 12.
Risco's next game was Saturday against Ellington.
BELL CITY -- Nick Niemczyk led the Cubs with 34 points and Ethan Watkins added 12 points in a road win.
Bell City (13-2) opened a 14-point lead at halftime, then exploded for 30 points in the third quarter to put the game away.
ZALMA -- The Bulldogs opened a 12-point lead after the first quarter, but Richland battled back for the overtime win.
Justin Lemons led Zalma with 26 points, while Kevin Walker added 16.
